Try hand warmers. Those are portable and don't create too high a temperature. The heat comes from oxidation of iron.

but the packets only reach about 85 celsius

Would it be too much trouble to ask you be a bit more precise?

Would you want your flame to heat or not to heat metal to 195°C?

Imprecise grammar confuses the lot of us... really.

TO HEAT

How much metal must be heated to this temperature, and can this temp be exceeded, or must it be exact?

a verry small amount... like an aluminum pie tin and yes

Yes, it can be exceeded or, yes, it must be exact?

What are you doing that can't be done with, say, a candle, matches and a proper set up?

Hm, post didn't go through. Anyways, try using an oil bath, great controllability but I think it won't be too portable.
