I am looking for a source of Furan; I figured it would be a fairly readily available chemical but I guess I was mistaken. Does anyone know where I
source Furan or possible a quick and easy synthesis of Furan from an otc/ebay seller source?

Some time ago, do not remember when exactly, I got some from HMS Beagle. It was ugly looking stuff but distilled at the correct temperature with only
a small amount of residue. Though it is no longer listed, perhaps you could give the owner a call (he is a chemist and nice fellow) and he might be
able to source it for you.
Alternatively, you might see if Elemental can special order it for you. It's not to my understanding a hazmat but it is quite volatile and needs to be
stored at refrigerator temperature.
