Looking for well detailed lessons in chemistry...

I've been on the web looking for well detailed guides into the world of chemistry and chemical formulas and so forth.

I've found some places, but many seem to be off in the whole area of chemistyr. Some don't teach electron shells and how electrons jump forth and back giving off photons. Some places have scattered thought while teaching Chemistry.

Does anyone know a well throrough(sp?) website/program that teaches chemistry for free?

Why not just borrow a decent general chemistry textbook from the nearest library?

This is one of the best free ones I have found. They cover every topic I've ever needed in high school chemsitry. I imagine they would be helpful for the introductory chemistry classes in college as well, which I will be ideally skipping.

THere is a really fine organic chemistry book put out by Marc Loudon. It is in most college and university libraries, and I recommend it highly to anyone looking to synthesize anything.

It has a list in the back that reads like a flowchart...Say, synthesis of alchohols...20 methods including a brief description of each and where you find them in the book...synthesis of alkynes...two methods and page numbers...synthesis of ...etc...etc...
