chlorpromazine?

Does anybody have information on the synthesis of this phenothiazine, or could tell me where to look? It is out of patent, but I'm having trouble finding anything on it.

Did you check the Merck Index entry for it? IIRC, there should be a note as to how it was first prepared there. Can't verify it now since I'm currently at a nontrivial distance from our research facility. :(

Chlorpromazine, or thorazine, is used to treat psychotic disorders and symptoms such as
hallucinations, usually taken two to four times a day; see http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ druginfo/medmaster/a682040.html . See also http://www.mentalhealth.com/drug/p30-c01.html , http://www.biopsychiatry.com/neuroleptic.htm . Is that why you want to make it?.

Try looking it up, with the additional words synthesis and Merck, on Google.
