A few days ago in a middle of nowhere town called Angellala Creek in Queensland, there was a truck rollover.
It was 10pm. The truck was carrying 56 tons of ammonium nitrate, leaking diesel and on fire. Yet two fellow truck drivers managed to pull the injured
driver from the wreckage, before the entire thing detonated. Obviously saving his life.
No one died, which is surprising because looking at the photos there were rescue people there, and car windows were shattered 1km away.
8 people in a serious condition though. Wishing them a good recovery, because god that is some serious heroic efforts.

I bet the people that end up carrying hazardous materials like that have a pretty good idea what might happen in that situation, too. It's always nice
to see such selfless acts like this (I wish I could've seen the explosion, too, though)

I figure in a situation like that... if it was going to go off, you would never feel a thing. also if you tried to save your self by fleeing, and
30sec mattered, you wouldn't get far enough away any how.

There was a fire, but I think that blackened area you can see from the aerial photo may be a direct result of the shockwave stripping the leaves from
the trees, if not a fireball.
I didn't see this in the news, which is a shame because those firefighters deserved more credit for fighting a fire they knew full well could kill
them (and nearly did).
Don't even get me started on my location though. Sometimes, I go play with toxic chemicals because it's easier to cope with than trying to 'pick up
