i dont know anything about TiO2 help me

Edit by Chemoleo:
Changed to TiO2 from Ti2O.
And gurlen, please remember that we do appreciate an effort you put in *yourself*, just typing 'titanium oxide' into google would almost certainly answer a lot of questions.

Titanium is usually in the +3 or +4 state, perhaps you ment TiO2, titanium dioxide is a major component of many white paints, it works well for this purpose, you can buy the pigment online or possibly extract it, I have to wonder if this has been covered elsewhere. It is also in some ointments or am I confusing it with ZnO, they're both in paints.

Titanium is somewhat inert to oxidation, but if finely divied could be heated under oxygen.

Look for it at a pottery shop - that's where I found mine and it's cheap.

An *interesting* way to make it is to react chlorine with titanium to produced TiCl4. Then open the container. Titanium tetrachloride reacts with air to produce TiO2 and 2Cl2.:P

Combustion in a chlorine atmosphere would be extremely violent. Remember that titanium is used in fireworks for its bright light of burning. Your equation is wrong, by the way. It goes like this:

TiCl<sub>4</sub> + 2H<sub>2</sub>O -> TiO<sub>2</sub> + 4HCl

This is why the stuff doesn’t work in very dry climates.

Oh, I must have been mistaken. Sorry.:(
