I need to get some of this made. It is a synthetic truffle aroma used in the making of truffle oil. Can anyone help me out? Is it possible to make myself or is anyone willing to make some for me? I have a basic "recipe" that i can supply if it is helpful. Thank you for any help/advice that anyone can give.

Easy enough in principle

profoundly stinky in practice.

If you are willing to work with methyl mercaptan! That stuff has an odor, to say the least.

Paraformaldehyde and methyl mercaptan and Aq. HCl should do it, but you would need to be far away from anyone or have a VERY good hood or you will have people calling 911 all around you, and likely get yourself in trouble for creating a public safety issue, as everyone around will think there is a gas leak.

Oddly, while they will think it's a gas leak the real problem may be the bis cme from the HCl and HCHO.
