I synthesis 2,7-Dibromo-9,9-bis(6''-bromohexyl)-fluo-
rene following below proceed:

9.72 g of 2,7-dibromofluorene and 0.96 g of tetra-
butylammoniumbromide were dissolved in 100 mL of 1,6-
dibromohexane and 30 mL of a 45% KOH solution was then
injected under nitrogen. The solution was stirred at 75 C for
1 h. The reaction mixture was extracted with 300 mL
dichloromethane and the resulting solution was evaporated.
The reaction mixture was distilled under vacuum, to remove
the 1,6-dibromohexane.

can anyone tell me the detail of removal of 1,6-dibromohexane?

Thanks
