Does anyone here use Bodum glass in the lab? From what I understand, all of it is borosilicate. The espresso glasses, for example, come with a nice,
removable plastic handle and they can be picked up for about 50 cents each all day long at the second hand stores. The french presses could also make
nice beakers.

should be ok, just make sure you label it in such a way to ensure that you dont mix it up with your ktchenware, i also reccomend storing it away from

The new price of Bodum glass is more expensive than pyrex, but as I said there is a whole lot of it available in the local second-hand stores. I guess
I will buy one of the espresso glasses for about 50 cents and do a boil then straight into an ice bath. If it works, it could be very good material
for blowing custom glassware.

Yes. I have a small Bodum dish which I use for recrystallizations sometimes. Its base explicitily says not to use it on a stovetop. There are indeed
different grades of borosilicate (for example, volumetric flasks are made from another type of borosilicate than RBFs and the like). It should however
resist chemicals easily.
