Ok here's the thing- I just registered on this site to see if there was or is anyone that can help me in an area that I absolutely know nothing about.
My boyfriends father owns a Storage Facility in an Industrial area in Arizona- One of the Tenants that were there prior to his buying the place full
filled the original Lease & about a month ago vacated the unit- So being that my boyfriend & i tend to the property it is our job to clean out
& clean up- We did not expect to find a unit full of crazy cool kinda OMG stuff- One section of the unit that is walled off into a room has
nothing but these floor to ceiling wall to wall lab like cubicles with a shit ton of crazy cool glassware beakers like you see only in the movies-
another room which was the office has a bunch of what I have found out are Wafers- a gazillion of all sizes- another room has large wafers that are
contained made just for them- in all sizes- there is what I believe is a Silicon Single Crystal Wafer- in the main area are racks with 6 foot glass
tubing- which the person who directed me to this website stated that they might be Quartz tubing- Here are some pics of the lil things I brought home
to do research with- Can anyone tell me what field or what exactly all of these materials are used to make? I mean I have to clear out the unit- I
know nothing about any of this to know whether I can donate sell dispose of- some of the stuff has crazy warning signs- Are the toxic? So please if
anyone can help direct me in finding out more about all of this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You

I'm sure there are many members on this board (myself included) that would just love to get their hands on what you have described.
Am I correct in saying that by "clear out the unit" you mean that all of the cool stuff in the apartment is now yours? If that is so, please take
pictures of the various "crazy cool glassware beakers like you see only in the movies" as well as the glass tubing and other interesting items and
post them here. From the sound of it, most of what is in that apartment could be sold here, and you could net yourself a decent amount of cash in
doing so .
If you are willing to sell this stuff, please post where you are willing to post it to (Australia perhaps?).
As for what the silicon wafers are used for, a quick internet search will reveal they are used to make CPUs and solar panels (although in this case it
looks like CPUs. How large is that circular wafer in the top image? It looks like it could be quite big.franklyn - 19-10-2013 at 21:58
The wafers are the substrate to etch semiconductor chips on.
My appraisal is that these are experimental or production rejects which are only of value for their material value and novelty.
Check the provenance , there must be some reference in the labeling or packaging of the manufacturer. There is a small
chance some of what you have being vintage having historic significance , the prototype of some particular fabrication.

Silicon wafers and quartz tubing go together quite well, nothing unusual there. Do you by any chance have the tube furnace that these tubes fit
into?
I don't know what you mean by a "gazillion", but if all of those wafers are etched with funny little patterns like they are in the first picture, then
they are likely rejects, as franklyn said. If they are still blank, then they may be worth something to someone. In that case don't handle them
unless necessary.
Those funny little warning signs in picture #4 are reminding you that the part is more afraid of you than you are of it. It won't hurt someone
unless you pick it up and throw it at them. On the other hand, if you remove that part from its little black foam carrier, the static electricity in
your body may break its delicate insides.

Here are some more pics that I took while stopping at the Storage Unit just real quick the other night on the way to work- I am going there in a lil
bit to swoop up some more item to take pics of & get info from them to do some more research- I will post everything when I get back- here are
some pics of the Tubing-
There might be some quartz (or other high-silica) glass in there, but it's
more likely to be borosilicate.
Suggestion: Contact the Glassblowing Facility at Arizona State University (http://www.public.asu.edu/~aomdw/GLASS/) and them for some advice on locating a local glassblower to buy it and who can pick it up themselves.

These:
look like aluminum buttons for a vacuum coater, but I can't see well enough to be sure.
And the white packages:
look like spools of wire for a vacuum coater; but again, I can't see them well enough to be sure.
If they are packages of wire, are any of them labeled Ag, Au, Pd, or Pt?

A few of the images are too low resolution to really decide what the items are exactly.
Can you make an image of the labels of these (or tell us what the label says):

Unless you can make an image that is good enough to read the markings on the electronic components (or copy the markings), it is impossible to say
what they are and if they have any value (other than that some of them are gold-plated so they will have some value as gold scrap, but that would be
only a few $ per component at best).

This looks like could be lenses for a microscope. Is there a microscope or another instrument that looks like it might use these items in your

Corporation", a maker of specialty solders for the electronics industry, which, no surprise here, usually contain the element indium, abbreviated "In"
