Quick Opinion Blockbusters/M-80's

Nothing big. I've used TF SE a lot and have some decent *.nfo. Prob is, some of it is contradictory, and there are lots of differing opinions. I think I can pose my question/problem fairly easily here.

Given that I have both KCLO4 &KCLO3, along with windings of visco fuse, what might be the best way to go about making a blockbuster device (2X M-80-s I reckon). All I have is the chlorate/perchlorate and visco, and my desired end result is not destruction, but loud boomy concussion. I want this MF to be loud. What else do I need, and what's a good reliable method. Have already experimented with various proportions of CLO4 confectioners sugar in PVC with wadding both ends, and anchoring cement at the ends as caps. Not such great luck. I don't have any strapping tape or charcoal yet. Wide open to opinions + suggestions. I basically want to have a very loud 4th! Thanks in advance!

be careful when you throw those things, the endplugs are always a bad idea having flying your direction

but i suppose you want to find some proper fuel with your KClO4* and KClO3*?

look up flashpowder, although if you want more bang per gramme HE might be what you want but if you havent even thought about metallic fuels yet then you should certainly not plan that yet by any means

also i read you use PVC..??
PVC fragments like glass does: sharp needly fragments that you will be very very sorry for getting hit by, reconsider what you use for container, as you have infact held potential fragmentational grenades in your hand!!!

70\30 perchlorate\ dark pyro aluminum flash powder. Home made paper tube, with thin paper end caps glued into place. Minimal confinment is needed, and keep the powder loose. 4 grams of this is very loud and quite impressive. No risk of shrapnel frpm the case, and if you dont hold them when lighting, the danger is small. This mix is also very stable and insensitive, still, be carefull.

if nothing else is stated you can always take it as being of weight
you should however make a sentisizer of 1:1:1 Sulfur Iron Oxide and Charcoal powder (by volume)
add approx. 1g of this sensitizer to 100g flashpowder
makes it much faster, clear difference will be seen at deflagrations
sulfur does work with KClO4 but KClO3 is a very different story

I was playing with some experimental flash powder tonight ranging from half a dime to about a quarter sized., matchheads(KClO3? Im guessing) mixed with fine magnesium filings from a magnesium bar (prob in 60/40 or 70/30 KClO3 Mg by volume). Very bright purple deflagration with lit sparks of Mg being thrown off. Very pretty. I tried testing it to see if it would be mechanically shock sensitive by hitting it on the floor with the file.(my tests need more research to determine whether they are sensitive and are incloncusive currently)my assumption would be since it is so slow to deflagrate it would not explode when confined but you never know. :p Further testing will have to be done.

Even NaCLO3/gran sugar, ~50/50 vol:vol will go off at relatively high velocity upon concussion. Just place a dimes worth on top of a large, relative flat smooth boulder. Place another medium boulder over this, smoshing it in to level the 2ndary boulder out. Than grab a BAG boulder and just let it drop onto that top boulder. Back when sea hers had the Bernz-O-Matic NaCLO3 sticks for their funky (who designed this thing welding torch.

Hands down to Bot0nist. More isn't necessarily better. I'd like to add some important info to this. If you have access to free Tyvek envelopes (like the ones the PO uses for priority mail), place your FP in to the very bottom corner of the envelope. Tyvek is very difficult to tear or break. Roll the tyvek/FP a bit, then use some sharps to make a hole and stick in your visco. Continue rolling, intuitively, to obtain maximal containment. After this, get some strapping tape, and warp your Tyvek several times.

Now, this 4 grams FP will explode like a Blockbuster. It will absolutely blow your socks offl And if you are smart about things, you can reduce your fixed costs to about 5 cents per blockbuster.
