luckily I got a batch of those lovely red caps 
Say, I'm not sure right now, but these inlays got two sides - one is beige, one is grey...
I expect the grey stuff to be Teflon. Right...?

That is correct. Grey side should be soft but hard plastic, beige side is softer rubber like polymer, maybe silicone.
