I allways find it interesting to look at other members work in the form of pics, vids and audio. So I thought that I'd post some of mine and I hope
you'll do the same.

Fuck, this board is a bit messed up when it comes to the post formatting.
Something has gone wrong with the links, so you'll have to remove anything behind the .jpg tp view the pics

new forum?
flickedbic - 27-9-2002 at 18:17
It would be awsome if a new forum was developed for just mpeg's & jpg's...
No new forum, sorry

I don't want to spoil the party, but I'd better clear some things up before this goes too much further:
I don't care for threads that are basically big picture collections, or big collections of links to pictures. If you have performed an interesting
experiment or built something unique and you took pictures, wonderful! By all means post the photographs. But give commentary too. Don't leave the
pictures just dangling there without any explanation.
Sciencemadness.org is not the Explosives and Weapons Forum writ small, despite the large number of sciencemadness members who are also E&W members.
Sciencemadness has its own focus. That focus is upon experimental amateur chemistry. Discussions of exotic, interesting, and unique energetic
materials are welcome here, as they fall under that heading of experimental amateur chemistry. Discussions of common, discussed-to-death energetic
materials such as acetone peroxide and binary ammonium nitrate mixtures are more suited to the Explosives and Weapons Forum. However, I will not be
very strict about regulating discussion even of these mundane explosives since it's still possible to learn something new once in a while.
There are some (perhaps many) people on the E&W Forum who are content to know little more than what's needed to safely (relatively speaking) make
explosives. This forum is intended for people who are at least as interested in chemistry in general as they are in the immediate fruits of chemical
manipulations.
Therefore, in keeping with the spirit of that mission, I'm not really interested in seeing links to pictures of simple explosive devices or the
aftermath of simple explosive devices. If you have something really different to show, as I said before, feel free to post pictures. But if you just
want to show what your latest charge of acetone peroxide and ammonium nitrate did, please post those links on the E&W Forum. I do have a soft spot in
my heart for artistic pyrotechnics, so if you make some nice fireworks, feel free to post those pictures too.
I hope this doesn't come across as raining on anybody's parade. I don't like to like to put on my Big Bossy Administrator Hat and tell people what
sort of messages to write. But in the future I will lock and possibly even delete threads that have lots of links to pictures without commentary, or
that turn out to be "look at this smoking crater" pics.
Oh, and NERV, Angelfire (and most other free hosts) has/have blocked attempted external access to their images for years now. You need to put your
pictures in their own page, not just link directly to the image files. There are numerous programs and scripts that will automatically generate the
HTML and thumnail images for a gallery if you feed them the starting images. Here's the first thing that popped up on Google:
http://home.swipnet.se/~w-52253/hyper/program/free_product.h...
I honestly don't like it when I feel I have to step in and dictate something. Basically, I like the idea of sciencemadness remaining self-regulating.
I am very happy when I can act like just another member of the forum and not have to wield my powers of moderation. I'm trusting all
of you to help maintain this open and trusting atmosphere. Let's keep this forum relaxed and the chemistry interesting.
