[Edzard Ernst] Scourge of Snake Oil Salesmen Bids an Early Farewell
Science 333 [6403] 687 5 August 2011
Ernst called Prince Charles
a “snake oil salesman”—a headlinemaking
sneer he doesn’t regret. “He owns a firm that
sells a tincture of artichoke and dandelion
that supposedly detoxifies the body. To me
that is snake oil,” he says.

This 'heir' to the most highly 'subsidised life-style' ever envisaged has a very large head, composed of 99% face, with the remaining 1% made up of
some kind of solid grey 'matter'!
He can't possibly be a 'snake-oil-salesman' because even that would require him to have an IQ expressible in positive numbers.
His issue is little better . . .

I've always suspected that the bulk of the concoctions in health food stores were snake oil. It is simply amazing how many people regularly patronize
these stores. The stores have a huge selection of natural products and chemicals. And for that I'm grateful as I can walk in and buy any of them
without a prescription from a doctor.
In regard to Ernst, it is wonderful to see a man put scientific honesty ahead of politics and the polishing of his own career.
