mixing phosphorus pentoxide with celite

I have seen some articles that say that phosphorus pentoxide can be mixed with celite to produce a drying agent that is similar to Merck's "sicapent" which doesn't form a crust after absorbing water.

Anyone tried this? Would just mixing the materials well cause them to adhere?

I found this:

Quote:
500 gms of CELITE diatomaceous earth was mixed with 1320 gms of liquid ammonium phosphate fertilizer. The fertilizer contained 34% P2O5. The semi-solid resulting from the mixture was dried at 105C. and milled to 14 meshparticles. The P2O5 content of the dry solid was found to be 36%.

Phosphate content in fertilizers is always indicated as P2O5, but obviously it doesn't contain any.
