Plating chromium

I have a solution of Cr 3+ and I want to get a sample of solid chromium out of it for 'fun'. Would there be any issues just using a 6V lantern battery and a carbon anode/cathode and running some current through it?

I have done a similar experiment. I produced chromates from oxidation of stainless steel. I reduced the chromates using ascorbic acid an electrolyzed them with 12VDC. I got blackish fine chromium crystals at the cathode. They were really hard, Mohs scale hard, not difficult.
