I accidently had a rubber band stuck to the bottom of a pot and it melted onto the heating plate (and the bottom of the pot).
How can I remove it without damaging the heating plate?
I have baking soda, vinegar, dcm, ethanol, isopropanol, MEK, ...
Cheers.

I believe gasoline, turpentine, or some other petrol-like liquid and a cotton ball should remove it.

You can buy specific products for this.
Walmart carries a variety of stove cleaners.
Other stores in your area probably will as well.
If it is completely carbonized, it should brush off.
You might try letting the carbonization complete, obviously with ventilation to avoid fumes.
In my experience rubber bands carbonize really well.
