hi,

I need a reaction vessel to support temps of 450 ÂșC for some time. All are of borosilicate, you see reaction vessels of quartz???

Ok the price is obviolsly more high but...

eBay and AliExpress have some quartz flasks hanging around. For that size they ain't terribly priced and should keep good for very long if you don't misuse them.

For some purposes boro flask could handle that temp as well. Because these flasks are very cheap at best (5-10$ up to 1L rbf), I would just buy a couple for sacrificial use. Unless you intend to pressurize or vacuum them, higher temps with non-corrosive stuff could be very doable. People boil sulfuric acid in them every other day here, which goes up to 337C and few have had issues. Far from 450, but it also has a lot of margin to glass transition temp. Boro starts to be formable at +700C or higher.

If you could somehow use a large test tube, there are quartz uv tubes that would hold a fair amount of volume, on eBay.
"New Jebao 36W UV Sterilizer Quartz sleeve 36 watt"
Dimension: 51mm( head part), 43mm ( end part), 410mm (Length)
US $23.88 free shipping

I bought one of these which is even longer and holds 650 ml for about 30 dollars awhile back. Now it's 7 dollars shipping if in the US.
"Quartz Sleeve Glass Tube For Jebao 55 Watts 55W UV Clarifier Sterilizer CW-55"
Quartz Sleeve Lenght: 20-3/8 inch
This is it.
