Is there any tantalum salts that are soluble in a solvent besides HF, that can be made from metallic tantalum? The only one that I've found that
kind of fits is tantalum pentachloride, which is soluble in chloroform, but it's made with gaseous chlorine, which isn't something I want to
work with if I can avoid it. It also seems to hydrolyze with water, though that seems to be a bit of a theme with tantalum compounds. So I'm
wondering if there's another tantalum salt that I missed that's soluble in a solvent that isn't HF.
If it helps, I'm trying to refine tantalum from a bit over a pound of capacitors, but all the papers I've found used HF
