first of all i know that you can't use KCl instead of NaCl in solvay process.for me ammonium chloride is hard to get,so i use the solvay process in
kitchen to make some by table salt and ammonium bicarbonate ("bakers ammonia" food grade) with cold water.
but when i'm doing research for that i came across some article telling me that it is possible to use KCl in similar to solvay process but insted of
ammonia bicarbonate it use bicarbonates of secondary amine or tertiary amine.(not sure which one)
since i came across this topic about "Diethylamine Hydrochloride Synthesis"

though i cannot find the said article, do any of you know what i'm taking about.
if it there is an analog for KCl, it could open up very useful ways to make K2CO3 and from it KOH. indeed valuable for amateur chemists.
