<strong>IUPAC:</strong> 2-[2-(4-nonylphenoxy)ethoxy]ethanol
<strong>CAS Registry Number:</strong> <a href="http://www.chemindustry.com/chemicals/0530476.html">9016-45-9</a>

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if this or related compounds have a fruity or pleasant odor? I've done a bit of searching, but come up with nothing.

I just received some cartons of <em>Sparkleen 1</em> (FisherBrand) in the mail, and noticed a very slight pleasant odor when I opened the package. The <a href="http://fscimage.fishersci.com/msds/87000.htm">MSDS</a> claims the product is odorless. I'm a bit curious if it's one of the listed compounds that I'm smelling, or if they add something which would fall under their "Non-hazardous ingredients" blanket. Obviously it's not the Na2CO3! :P
