Im not sure who's familiar with Make Magazine, but its a quarterly magazine about building things at home, mostly in the fields of mechanics, physics,
and electronics. Its pretty popular, and every year in California they hold a two day convention called Makers Faire. People go to watch Makers
Faire or can sign up for free to get a table in the expo hall and exhibit something. Last year I went to watch and saw a lot of cool stuff, from
rocketry to robotics and more.
Next year I will be doing an exhibit on home chemistry. I talked to Polverone and he said it would be ok for me to represent sciencemadness. So my
question is is anyone else interested in going and exhibiting with me, or any older member interested in representing sciencemadness as well? Let me
know and I can provide more information, this is mostly for people on the western united states though, not too many people come from very far away.

Where in California is it? It's a big state.hkparker - 27-12-2010 at 16:03
Fairgrounds, in the bay areamr.crow - 27-12-2010 at 17:25
That would be cool, they had something like that in 2008 Youtube.
What are you going to be doing there?hkparker - 27-12-2010 at 17:33
Ill probably make some fliers about home chemistry, talk about it, and every half an hour do some simple demo (silane, something colorful or bright).
That's all I have planned for nowfranklyn - 30-12-2010 at 23:37
I went to that last time it came to Detroit in 2010. Too bad it's so far away!hkparker - 28-2-2011 at 19:40

Man I'd like to go, but I'm all the way over in FL (as you know) so I don't think I could make it work If there's anything I can help with from this end let me know!aonomus - 8-3-2011 at 14:31
There is a mini makerfaire in Toronto, I'm going.hkparker - 8-3-2011 at 15:47
@MrHomeScientist If you could afford to make it out here that would be awesome, though its kinda a long way...
@aonomus you should, if its like what we have in California its pretty cool!hkparker - 12-4-2011 at 16:19
Ok, its officially happening. I need some help here!!Magpie - 12-4-2011 at 18:35
Looks like a fun time. The participants and audience seemed sophisticated, ie, not the usual circus crowd. Hope I can make it sometime. Thanks for
sharing your video.Arthur Dent - 30-5-2011 at 09:07
Holy crap! Now THAT'S a makers faire!
Damn shame there isn't anything remotely as cool as this in my area!
Looks like you had a heck of a great time!
Robert hkparker - 30-5-2011 at 10:36
@Magpie They really were, virtually no "ya gunna make some meth?!?!?" jokes! No but seriously, I met a lot of really cool and educated people there,
I recommend going.
@Arthur Dent Yea, it was huge! and I had a great time.Jor - 30-5-2011 at 14:33
Really cool! Great you did that. You have chosen some nice interesting experiments as well. These kind of actions make people understand the hobby!
aonomus - 30-5-2011 at 22:47
Small by comparison, but still fun.Arthur Dent - 31-5-2011 at 04:21
Wow. Another nice faire! Got a schedule of the next one?

I did my own science demo in Toronto that day for the University but it was no where near as popular It was busy but no one went into my area. Ended up doing the bluebottle, haha. The kids liked shaking it.hkparker - 31-5-2011 at 16:18
Thank you Jor, I think it generated a lot of interest as well.
@Anonomus I saw your video, looked like a lot of fun.
@Arthur Dent Im not sure when makerfaire 2012 will be but about the same time next year. Its annual in the bay area.
@mr. crow haha that is funny we end up doing the same one...
