I've been designing a proper fumehood to replace the fume extractor I have right now, and have been looking for a good fan. So far I like the looks of
this for its price, CFM and its speed controller. As I often do, I would first like a second opinion on the fan. https://www.amazon.com/Inline-Fan-Built-Controller-Pre-Wired...
Sorry for the long link, I'm in a hurry on my phone right now.battoussai114 - 5-5-2019 at 18:42
I'd personally use a centrifugal pump and mitigate the trouble of corrosive gases eating the motor away.Abromination - 5-5-2019 at 20:19
Could the motor in an inline fan like this spark a fire?Ubya - 6-5-2019 at 07:05

it's best to keep the motor outside the flow of air and corrosive/flamable gasesAbromination - 7-5-2019 at 20:03
Here is a better option, a squirl cage blower with an outer motor. My concerns involve the diameter of the input and output although the CFM is
appropriate and still variable.
On another note, I was wondering what advice you guys have on baffels. For a 30x18x22 inch hood (WxLxH), what configuration would be the best? I am
planning on having the fan directly on top of the hood.Abromination - 8-5-2019 at 15:25
