it used to detect guanidine in blood & urine, paper from J. Exp. Biol. sci said the color is adduct between the guanidine& oxidation pdt of
nitroprusside . anyone have an referenced equation for this Rx

This might be of some help. It describes the proposed reaction between Simons (nitroprusside and acetaldehyde) and a secondary amine.
