Hello all,
s-(-)-n,n-dimethyl-3-hydroxy-3-(2-thienyl)propanamine
I received some ounces of this in the mail recently from a company overseas. Not at all what I ordered in the past nor corresponding to order time
lines. Surely an accident.
But I see this: http://www.chemblink.com/products/132335-44-5.htm
And this: http://www.freshpatents.com/Process-for-preparation-of-an-an...
Now I think the structure is interesting, but a bit out of my familiarity. Antidepressants aren't really of interest to me but maybe there are some
interesting theoretical directions for this material to be taken in?
Thank you for any consideration.

Here's a sketch of the compound, I did not bother with absolute configuration of the chiral 3-carbon.
So I am not sure what is your question? You have already googled the stuff. An experimental antidepressant, though presumably what you have is not
pharm grade. Even if it were, you can hardly make any such use of it even were you depressed!
It is of no obvious value as a reagent, and while I am no expert at such things, does not look to me like it has any utility as a precursor for any
recreational substance I know of.
I have no pregnant suggestion as to what to do with it.
