PECSS

Does anyone here have any software that will work with a Perkin Elmer Lambda 2 UV/Vis spectrophotometer (uses RS232) such as PECSS (Perkin-Elmer Computerized Spectroscopy Software) or WinLab? It might be possible to use Labview, but I don't know the details of how to use Labview for interfacing to a Lambda 2.

do you have the manual, or the command list?

Hi,

I also own a Perkin Elmer Lambda 2. I would like to develop software able to talk to it. But I do not have its handbook, or more specifically the syntax for the commands to be sent/read via the serial/RS232 interface. Do you have the handbook, or a listing of those commands? If so, please contact me: With that info, I think I should be able to produce a valid automation program.

Sincerely.

I never got it. It was being sold at Terrapin Traders for $500.

Its not there anymore and I didn't ask them where it went.
I don't have any literature about it.

Spekwin32 might work.

I have a Lambda 2s and a Lambda 9. The Lambda 2s is currently controlled by PECSS V4 and that works well. The Lambda 9 is a US model and has a special RS232C board that requires PECSS V3.26 which I don't have access to. I would be happy to trade PECSS V4 for V3.26. Anyone have V3.26? Thanks, Doug

Also, there are two non-Perkin Elmer programs that will works for many of these old spectrometers but they can be expensive. ftg
